Spirit of the ʻIo 18"x24" Framed Original Painting | Wildlife Art by Arco

Spirit of the ʻIo — Original Acrylic Painting

18" × 24" | Original Acrylic on Wood Panel | Handcrafted Floating Frame

A Reflection of Hawaii's Wild Spirit

Native to the Hawaiian Islands, the ʻIo (Hawaiian hawk) is a powerful symbol of the islands' unique wildlife and natural heritage. For Arco, who was born and raised in Honolulu, this painting is also a personal connection to the place he calls home.

Part of Arco's Reflections of Wildlife series, Spirit of the ʻIo combines detailed realism with reflective imagery that invites viewers to consider our relationship with the natural world. The reflections represent the choices we make and the different futures those choices can create for wildlife and their habitats.

The hawk's commanding gaze, intricate feather details, and expressive character are brought to life through carefully layered acrylic paint and individually mixed colors. Every detail is intended to capture both the beauty and quiet strength of this remarkable bird.
